Man Arrested For Beating Up His Wife
The police on Wednesday arraigned a man, Simon Silas, 55, before a Karu Magistrates’ Court in Nasarawa State for allegedly beating up his wife.
Prosecutor Garba Mohammed said the incident was reported at the Apo Police Station on September 4.
Mohammed told the court that the accused beat up his wife, Ijeoma, and inflicted injury on her.
The prosecutor added that the accused caused grievous hurt on her, pointing out that the offence contravened the Penal Code.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Celestine Odo, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.
Odo ordered that the surety must have a fixed address within the jurisdiction of the court.
He adjourned the case till September 19, for further hearing.

He said he has fasted about four days in prison. He described his prison cell as being okay but not too comfortable,” our sources added.
Father sells three children for N1m in Delta State
According to Sunday Express, a middle-aged man, identified as Patrick Obazi, was paraded for allegedly selling his three children to a group of ritualists for a price of one million Naira.
The report says, since the ugly story was made public a couple of weeks ago, the question on the lips of many: is what on earth would make a father sell his own children?
While some are yet to fathom the root cause of the wicked act from this dad from hell, others see it as a sign of the endtime.
Whatever the reason or rationale behind the evil trade, people of Agbor, Delta State, where the act was perpetrated were and are still shocked over the incident. In fact, since August 7, 2012, when The devious scheme was aborted at Owa Alero, a suburb of Agbor, by military men after they got a tip off and caught the ritualists as they were making away with the children locked in the trunk of their Volvo car.
The shock came when during interrogation the ritualists insisted they were not kidnappers and that they had formally bought the three kids from their father for the sum of one million Naira.
It was further revealed that they picked the children from their day care centre, after their father had deceived the kids that they would be picked up by their uncles.
Meanwhile, SE findings revealed that Patrick Obazi, the father who sold his children, a native of Igbanke in Orhiomwon Local Government Area of Edo State, had earlier reported to the military men that his children had been kidnapped by the day care centre workers.
After the children, Precious, 2, Joy, 3, and Chukwuyem, 4, were recovered from the ritualists, their father was subsequently arrested, even as he fervently denied having knowledge of the plot, maintaining that he never sold any of his children to the ritualists.
Obazi’s lid was blown up when further investigations and search conducted at his house, however, proved him a liar as the sum of one million Naira was discovered in his room and he was subsequently left
with no choice but to confess.
The Army Commander in charge of Agbor zone, Captain Ubachukwu Solomon Agbo, gave a background to the development.
According to him, the “criminal dad” himself, came earlier on to report that his children were missing.
“We discovered that the three children were taken to a day car centre, where he had first tried to sell them off,” he narrated.
According to Captain Agbo, the seemingly mentally-challenged father of the kids had earlier in the day, asked one of the teachers at the day care, known as Aunty Grace, if she knew of anybody who might be interested in buying his children for one million Naira.
The perplexed teacher had simply ignored the “weird” father.
Neighbours of Obazi was that the man in question has always behaved strangely like a mentally-challenged person, therefore the neigbours were not surprised at the latest development.
“He is not normal, always talking to himself, and very poor. He is a vulcaniser, but he does not get a lot of customers, hence he became very poor, which was the reason his wife and mother of his kids left him”, revealed one of his neighbours, who identified himself as Richard.
As at the time of writing this report, Obazi is languishing in police custody where he is helping out with further investigations.
All efforts to speak with the Delta State Police Command On the issue proved abortive.
Woman Gives Birth To Horse In Benin Church
Some residents of Benin, the Edo State capital were shocked at the World Liberation Ministry, located along old Sapale-Benin Express road where a woman gave birth to a horse during the church service.
Confusion raided that air when the worshipers at the church witnessed a crying Horse instead of a crying baby.
The General Overseer of the Church, Evangelist Silva Wealth, who narrated the ugly incident to reporters, said a woman whom he refused to disclose her identity was screaming during the prayer session and later on began to bleed from her private part before delivering the horse.
Wealth said further that members of the church were shocked following what the woman gave birth to.
According to him, “the Lord has revealed to me during the prayers session that there was a woman with an issue and that something was blocking her womb. As the prayers intensified, the woman started screaming and bleeding started when the object came out.
“I cannot touch it and that was why I don’t know if the horse was already dead or not. I can’t describe the object. We have seen people that vomited several things during our service but not this type of thing. God has been blessing our ministry with prophesies and miracles, “he said.

His girlfriend, who was seen at the scene crying uncontrollably, said he left the house yesterday morning unknowing to her that he was into robbery in the neighbourhood.
Residents had thronged the scene to catch a glimpse of the robber, and the lady too wanted to catch a glimpse. But on reaching there, she found out that the young man was her lover.
She broke into tear on sighting the mutilated corpse and when she was asked why she was wailing over a suspected ‘armed robber’, she said “he was my boyfriend”.
It was learnt that the armed robber and another member of his gang operating on motorcycle had robbed an unsuspecting neighbour near Enerhen junction of money meant to pay his workers.
They were fleeing with the unspecified sum when neighbours started shouting “thief, thief”, prompting a hot chase during which the girl’s lover was caught at the Okoro Street, but not after he had shot four persons in a desperate bid to escape.
The other suspect, however, ran faster and was able to escape the mob.
The lover boy, according to source, in a bid to escape was shooting sporadically into the air to scare his pursuers.
The fired shots however hit four persons who were later hospitalized.
A source said; “But his trailers were undeterred in spite of the fact that four persons were hit by the stray bullet fired by the desperate robber”.
“Apparently, the determination of residents of the area who were bent on catching the robber dead or alive paid off when he (the armed bandit) attempted to shoot a man putting on boxers and singlet”.

Nigerian Boy Arrested For Raping An Indian Girl
A Nigerian was arrested on Sunday for raping a Manipuri nursing student in Bangalore. Apparently, the accused was the boyfriend of the victim’s aunt.
The Bangalore Police arrested Prince John aka Johnson ( 31) and he was remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.
“ The accused raped the victim on May 13 in Bangalore. He had threatened her with dire consequences if she went to the police. Later, the victim fled to Mumbai and lodged a complaint with the police there. The case was transferred to us and we arrested Prince John,” Bangalore rural SP D. Prakash, said.
The police said Prince John, who is in Bangalore on a student visa, befriended the victim’s aunt a few months ago. On May 13, the victim and her aunt visited John at his residence.
“ He told his girlfriend ( the victim’s aunt) that he would like to introduce the victim to a friend who could help her with a personal problem. He then took the victim to a house where he raped and threatened her,” the police said.

Franklin Davis gave a series of jailhouse interviews to local media outlets on Monday [Sep 10] to share his part of the story. Demons, he said. It was the demons. "I didn't plan on hurting her", he told WFAA's David Schecter. "I was fighting demons. It was like a different person was in me”.
The facts of the story are unsettling. Davis, 30, is charged with molesting Shania Gray, then 14, several times when she was a babysitter for his kids. She was scheduled to testify at his trial in October 2012 which, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Morning News, is why Davis wanted to talk to her.
Davis created a fake Facebook account with the picture of a teenage boy. He began messaging Shania, telling her he knew her friends and had a crush on her, per the paper's front-pager on Sunday. He called her using a pre-paid cell phone and agreed to meet her Thursday at Hebron High School.
Shania was surprised to see him, according to the affidavit, but agreed to get into the car when he said he just wanted to talk about the assault case. During the drive to a trail head at Valley View Lane and 635, she saw a pistol in his car and asked Davis if he planned to hurt her. He said no, and they walked down the trail to the Trinity, where he shot her twice.

KTVT-TV of Dallas and Fort Worth reported that one student was taken to a hospital after her friends said she was crying so hard that she had a seizure.
Davis was arrested on Saturday [Sep 8] and allegedly confessed. He's being held in Dallas County on a capital murder charge. Bond is set at $2 million. Friends and family have set up a memorial Facebook page in memory of Shania.

Man Kills Girlfriend for Lying about Her HIV Status until after They Had Sex
Larry Dunn Jr, 36 has confessed to stabbing his girlfriend to death because she did not tell him she was HIV positive before they had sex. The body of the girlfriend, Cicely Bolden, 28, was found by her two young children while returning home from school.
The 28-year-old was lying unclad from the waist down on her bedroom floor bleeding from two stab wounds in her neck. She and Dunn had only recently started dating.
While confessing to police officers in Dallas, Texas, Dunn had said: “She killed me, so I killed her”. Giving the police details of his action, he said, that when she confessed to having the virus, she then told him it was ‘not that bad’. He became upset and walked to the kitchen to get a knife which he used to kill her with.

On getting to our compound, I didn't find the gate man at his post and I was even angry because of the security risk of him leaving the gate open like that.
"But something got me worried when I saw the gate man's sandals right inside our sitting room. I just told myself that something is going on between my uncle's wife and this dirty boy. I was right, when I moved close to the window of my uncle's bedroom I started hearing screams of sexual pleasure from his wife. I tried to peep into the room but it was difficult because of the protector.
"So, I summoned courage and walk to the door as if I wanted to tell my uncle's wife that I was back. I opened the door and caught the adulterous woman red-handed under the dirty gate man (boy). Many people who have misconception about this controversial actress will not believe that she is a good Christian.

Police Seize Cynthia’s Corpse In Lagos
There are indications that the police in Lagos have refused to release the corpse of Cynthia Osokogu, the facebook girl murdered by suspected kidnappers in a hotel in Lagos, to her parents for burial.

The burial which was scheduled for today in Agbor, Delta State, south-south Nigeria, had to be delayed when the remains of the deceased did not arrive Agbor, her home town, as expected. A decision was later made by the family to give the deceased a ceremonial burial.
P.M.NEWS gathered from retired Major General Frank Nwafor Osokogu, father of the deceased, that the police were yet to release the corpse for burial.
The 24-year old was murdered on 22 July in Lagos State by friends she met on the Facebook.
She was a graduate of English Language at Nasarawa State University and was pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Administration in the same institution after resigning from MTN.
A ceremonial burial was performed at the family residence in Boji-Boji Owa, Ika North Local Government Area of Delta State after a requiem mass.
The Governor of Delta State, Mr. Emmanuel Uduagan condoled with the Osokogus today and called on the police to conclude investigation quickly and bring the culprits to book.
Senator Ifeanyi Okonwa and the Obi of Owa, Emmanuel Efezomor 11 and others attended the ceremonial burial.
Friends of Cynthia with her picture on their black shirts wept uncontrollably at the ceremony.
Cynthia was born on 10 November, 1987 in Agbor town.
She started schooling at the Command Children School, Ilorin and moved to the Command Secondary School, Jos from 1997 to 2004.
She secured admission into the Nasarawa State University, Keffi between 2005 and 2009 and went for her National Youth Service Corps. She finished in 2010.
She opened a boutique, ‘Dress Code,’ in 2007 and was doing a post graduate course at the Nasarawa State University before she was lured to Lagos by suspected kidnappers and killed.
Her eldest brother, Flight Lieutenant Kenneth Uchechukwu Osokogu, described her as a good girl.
“She was the closest person to me. When we came on holidays during Christmas, New Year or burial ceremonies, she slept here in the second room,” Kenneth said as he pointed to a room with Cynthia’s obituary portrait now on the bedroom’s window.
“She didn’t tell me she was going to Lagos for business. But she was a good girl. She was smart and intelligent and she was in her business for long to know where to get goods. She just did what most normal girls do but fell into the wrong hands,” he said.
“She had monthly allocation from her father and me. She had her own business and did not need money. She was comfortable.
“I am the one that went to Lagos to identify her body. The police told me, according to confessions made by the suspects, she had been talking to them for four months. They told her they were in the same business, that they were retailers and would sell her goods at cheaper price. You know we have a relation in the United States who often sent her goods and these people told her they had the same goods and will sell at cheaper price. She believed them,” Kenneth said.
Cynthia’s immediate elder brother, an Assistant Superintendent of Customs, Mr. Williams Ehiedu Osokogu, described her sister as a loving and a caring lady.
Cynthia was the last born and only daughter of a family of four. Her parent’s second born, Mr. Tony Azubike Osokogu, lives in Greece.
“How do we get another sister now,” Williams Osokogu asked, tears tricking down his cheeks.

Suspects: We Built Hotel With Robbery Proceeds
Two robbery suspects, Saheed Quadri, 30, who specialises in snatching exotic cars and his accomplice who sells the cars, Taiwo Adisa, 32, have confessed to the police that they had built a hotel and houses from their robbery proceeds.
They were arrested recently by men of the Lagos State Police Command of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, at different locations.
SARS sources informed P.M.News that during interrogation, Saheed confessed to being the owner of a three-bedroom flat and ‘Oju Opon’ Love Garden Hotel at Eyin Ogbe Community in Liadi-Maya area of Ikorodu, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.
P.M.News gathered that Saheed was arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, on his way to Abuja to sell a Honda ‘End of Discussion’ car which he had stolen about three months ago. While Taiwo was arrested at his Abuja residence.
After they were arrested, two locally-made pistols and cartridges were recovered from the suspects, our police sources revealed.
Saheed and members of his four-man armed robbery gang reportedly operated on motorcycle, known as Okada and their modus operandi was to hit the bumper of any car they intended to snatch. As the owner of the car tried to know what was happening, they would rob him of the vehicle.
According to SARS sources, the two suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation.
The police claimed Saheed admitted he snatched posh cars such as Honda, ‘End of Discussion’, ‘Baby Boy’, Sienna Sports Utility vehicle and Toyota Camry.
Saheed told police investigators that he was once a plank seller at Ikorodu. At a period, when his business suffered a set back, two members of the gang now at large known as Stanley and ‘Small’ offered to assist him. They admitted him into their car snatching gang. He said two students called Lekan and Gbolahan introduced the duo to him.
In his confessional statement, Taiwo Adisa, who also built a house in Ikorodu but resides in Abuja. admitted that he received and sold vehicles snatched by the gang members.
He stated that his half brother, Jelili Ojedokun, introduced him to the group.
Taiwo, who trained as an aluminum worker, said he had bought five vehicles from the group before his arrest.
“I bought an ‘End of Discussion’ car for N650,000 and sold it for N700,000. I bought a Toyota Camry from the group for N500,000 which I Sold for N650,000. Another car I bought from them was sold for N1.1million. I cannot remember the brand of the car now,” Taiwo confessed.
He claimed that one Honda ‘Baby Boy’ he bought from the group was still in his possession but the Toyota Sienna SUV was with his mechanic.
While efforts were being intensified to track down the fleeing members of the gang, SARS said the suspects would be arraigned in court at the completion of their investigation
Julius Agwu Stranded In The US As Air Nigeria Shuts Down
Comedian Julius Agwu is lamenting about his current situation – he is trapped in the US, no thanks to Jimoh Ibrahim and the recently defunt Air Nigeria.
Agwu says he flew with Air Nigeria from Nigeria to London for his "Crack his Rib" show which was held on August 26, 2012 at the plush Lighthouse Hall, Camberwell but cannot return to Nigeria now because the airline has abruptly shut down services.
The owner of the airline, Jimoh Ibrahim, had on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 announced a one-year suspension of all activities of the airline and terminated the employment of all its staff, sparing only 50.
The usually lively comedian took to micro-blogging website Twitter to complain bitterly;

Nigerian woman caught carrying US$114,100 undeclared into Vietnam
Customs officers at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City said they seized US$114,100 in cash from a Nigerian woman passenger who had been carrying it undeclared last week. On August, 28 Raliat Temitope Fusigboye got off a plane arriving from Dubai and declared at customs that she had $120,000.
But when officers checked it, they found she actually had $239,100.
A passenger is allowed to bring in a maximum of $5,000 without declaration.
The officials confiscated the excess amount.
Before that, on August, 10 another Nigerian was arrested at Tan Son Nhat for carrying 590 grams of methamphetamine in his luggage.
Ezechukwu Emeka Celestine, 33, had arrived from Doha, Qatar.
He was handed over to the police.
Tree Striked By Thunder Falls And Kills Niger CPC Legal Adviser Inside His Car
This might not be good times for the people of Niger State as barely one week after flood killed two brothers in Minna, the state capial, disaster struck again as this time, a tree fell on a major road in the capital city during a two hour heavy downpour and killed the Legal Adviser to Niger State Chapter of Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Barrister Joseph Kolo.
Eye witness told Channels Television that the 40 year old barrister arrived from a journey during the rain and decided to park under a tree while waiting for the rain which had made movement difficult, to stop, only for the tree which was supposed to shelter him from the rain fell on top of his car killed him instantly.
However, the remains of the late barrister has since been deposited in Minna General Hospital morgue.

One of the most viral gist making the rounds in the entertainment industry right now, is the news that ace comedian and humor merchant, Francis Agoda a.k.a. I Go Dye, splashed an unimaginable N38 million naira on two exotic auto-mobiles; a 2012 Hybrid Escalade, (Platinum Edition) and a 2012 Range Rover Evoque.

How A Married Man I Met On BBM Almost Killed Me With Sex and Drugged Drinks
The lessons learned from the mishap that happened to Cynthia Osokogu cannot be overemphasized, as many are now aware of the disadvantages of the social media especially in leading people to the hands of hoodlums. This is yet another story from a lady that simply wants us to learn. It is a near-death experience a young lady had with a man who was her BBM friend: "I am a girl who has fears, beliefs, reservations and just your regular typical Nigerian girl. This past few weeks has been one hell of a game for me. I have really been unsettled and I thought I share this story with you.
"When Cynthia (the lady killed in the hotel room in Festac, Lagos) surfaced on the internet and various news media, I was scared and it brought back a whole lot of memories to me and also served as and eye opener. Many people castigated and criticised Cynthia (may her gentle soul rest in peace), but my point is, it could have been anybody, anybody at all.
"We have met people through various social media. Some have ended up well, some have not but with painful memories. To cut the long story short, let me kindly share with you my encounter with social media especially the very popular Blackberry Messenger (BBM).
"I am a graduate and currently serving in Kaduna. I could have runced it, but I needed somewhere to clear my head and forget about my ugly encounter. Here is my story.
"I happened to have a married man as a contact on my BBM. He had been asking me out for over six months and I refused to date him. As time went on, he invited me clubbing with him when his wife was outside the country, and I went with him all night. We spent most of the night at Swe bar, Lagos.
"I also met his clique of friends, married as well with their various mistresses. We had ‘mad’ fun. After all the clubbing and drinking, he lodged me in a hotel somewhere in Obalende. I felt sort of safe with him. We did not have sex, but he made sweet love to me and touched me in places I had never ever imagined.
"He kissed me passionately but guess what? He did not have sex with me. We did all sorts but there was no penetration. So, to an extent, I trusted he was a good person to be around with. I did not know that it was all part of the plan.
"He gave me N10,000 and put me in a cab to go home the next morning. We kept talking and chatting and sending naked pictures to each other and he told me naughty things of how he wanted to whisper things in my ear, I blushed. We didn’t see for two weeks and that was because his wife just came back from Turkey.
"One faithful evening, he pinged me that he was organising a beach party/boat cruise and that he would love for me to be his date and that he wanted to open a BBM chat, as a medium for his friends and my friends to interact. I was excited about it, I just wanted to have fun. I was able to get five of my very hot friends.
"The BBM group opened and we got chatting. I also realise that majority of them were married and working in reputable firms. It was fun and we didn’t mind if they were married, we just wanted to have fun, as well as some other girls apart from my friends in the group.
"We chatted exclusively, sent pictures to the BBM group to introduce ourselves, and we had opened group conversations pending the beach party. And as excited as we were, we went shopping for nice sexy beach wears.
"The D-day finally came, we all assembled at the Lagos Island Boat Club. I was wowed because it was a high class party. We were cruising in a boat loaded with goodies drinks and hot babes, and as well ‘MARRIED MEN’. I did not care, I just said in my mind that I would not roll with married men anymore after this, that for now, all I wanted to do was to catch some fun. After all, I wasn’t paying bills.
"We got there, it was a private beach resort. Most of the beach facilities I got to see there were owned by multinational companies. We got out of the boat, and went to where we were partying. It was a duplex made with wood. It was a very nice setting.
"I felt comfortable because it even had a fence around it separating it from other beach houses around. So, there was privacy and of course bouncers (heavy looking guys) guarding the place. I said to myself, this must be heaven, I must be dreaming.
"Anyways, we felt free with each other because we had been chatting. It was 5:30pm and the party just started. We had drinks flowing from the private bar tender which happens to be owned by one of the men in the group. Reality struck when I realised that I was feeling dizzy and feeling really funny and light headed. Not only me, but other girls around me too noticed there was something strange about it.
"I was also feeling HORNY as hell! I had been drugged. They monitored us and when they knew the drug had really gone deep into our system, they moved us up into the main beach house. I could still see faces, but was too weak and horny to react.
"Mr B, the man who took me clubbing, carried me in his hands like a sacrifice and put me down on the floor just as other men also did with their girls. We were eight in numbers; 8 girls, 8 guys, and they all stripped us down and had sex with us.

I got dressed, found my phone with an envelope. It contained N16,000 and a note asking us to take N2000 each for transport. Tears of anger and rage filled my eyes and the girls around me as well.
"We were drugged and used like tissue paper. I grabbed my phone and noticed a ping came in. I checked my phone and I noticed the BBM group had been deleted, and a message via BBM from MR B came in. He threatened me that if I say a word to anyone, I would regret it.
"I told him he was a bastard, and he said try it. A picture came in, several pictures. In fact, they were pictures of us being naked on the floor. Pictures of the humiliating us but they blurred the faces of the men. In total, I got 20 pictures. I was not myself for a month.
"I went back to school, I had no one to talk to. The rest of the semester was hell for me. My CGPA dropped drastically. It was the worst out of the worst result I ever had.
"Till today, my friends and I have not discussed this with anyone, but all I could do when I heard of Cynthia’s story was to narrate my own ordeal anonymously and spread the news, the word, and pray they (ladies who do runs) see it and changed their ways.
"I am now born again. I have given my life to Christ. I fear men so much that I cannot even move close to them. I still have nightmares, but with time, God will strengthen me and I will move on. My advice to single ladies out there is, do not be desperate for fun. Pray to God to open your eyes of understanding, and pray hard. He who kneels before God will stand before kings and queens.

Mindi and David Rice invited a 24-year-old female friend, whose name has not been released, to their Zephyrhills home on Wednesday evening, according to the Tampa Bay Times. The Rices, both 29, allegedly injected themselves with prescription drugs, and the Floridian threesome had sex before all falling asleep.
Police say that when Mindi Rice woke up early Thursday, she discovered her husband attempting to have sex with the other woman -- this time without her -- Bay 9 News reports.
Mindi Rice allegedly reached for a nearby revolver, saying she would shoot her friend, then fired a round into the ceiling, CBS reports.
David Rice gained control of the gun, according to the police report, then held it up to his wife's face.
According to the report, David told his wife, "B----, I'll f------ kill you." He allegedly then fired one bullet, which hit the wall.
The third party fled the house and called 911 at about 2 a.m.
Officials called a SWAT team when the couple refused to come out of their house. The Rices emerged after a couple of hours, though deputies ended up using a taser on David Rice after he allegedly tried to fight with them.
David Rice was charged with obstructing officers, and both were charged with aggravated assault. The couple remains in custody at Pasco County Jail.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday on unrelated charges of grand theft, burglary and possession of oxycodone.

David Rice was charged with obstructing officers, and both were charged with aggravated assault. The couple remains in custody at Pasco County Jail.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday on unrelated charges of grand theft, burglary and possession of oxycodone.
Mindi Rice is currently serving two years of felony probation for credit-card fraud reports. She was sentenced in June for stealing a credit card in 2011, allegedly for the purpose of bailing her husband out of jail.
As of Monday morning, the New York Daily News reports, Mindi Rice's Facebook page described her as mother of two with "my head on my shoulders."
